Nursing rooms in Singapore

I was darkly amused to read this letter published on Today, May 19 edition. Go ahead click on the link for the full story.

In short, a mother -- apparently foreigner -- complained because she wasn't allowed to breastfeed her baby at a kids' indoor playground. The reason was because some fathers were uncomfortable with it.

While I support the idea that breastfeeding should be encouraged, I too agree that we mommies shouldn't just parade our breasts in the name of breastfeeding.

It's 2010. We can purchase nursing wear easily -- nursing apron, nursing top, anything. That way we could nurse our babies anytime, anywhere without revealing any flesh.

In any case, I think Singapore is quite accomodating for mommies. You can find breastfeeding room almost everywhere.

Here is a fabulous list of nursing rooms in town.

There are actually many more places than what's written on it. Just don't forget to check your building directory, or ask the customer service.
